Guidelines for Posting at alt.support.alzheimers
Be pleasant.  We all have our days though so...
Be forgiving.
If you're the first person to respond to a post, quote the original post in full in case the message isn't propagating properly.  That way those who missed it will know what you're talking about.  WebTVers, don't worry about this too much.  Just make clear what the message to which you're responding was about.
Try to give references for the science you share with the group.
Provide links whenever possible.
It's a real good idea to lurk for a bit to get to know the inmates before you post.
Read the FAQs before you post.  A lot of questions come up frequently, thus the FAQ.
Don't post in all CAPS.  It's like SHOUTING and nobody likes to be shouted at.
If you're posting off topic material, please begin your subject line with "OT" be it humor, personal messages, or curious things you think subscribers may enjoy but don't have to do with Alzheimer's.  Many subscribers do enjoy a little diversion but some people still pay by the minute and some people don't have a lot of time.
If you're changing the direction of a thread, please change the subject line.  Something like this: OT: My Dog - was: Re: Alzheimer's and Whatever.  Same things, time and money.
Check the headers and delete other groups to avoid cross posting.
Please, thank people when they've done some special research for you.
It's nice to know the effort is appreciated.
Appreciation goes to all regular posters who add the Introduction page link (http://www.muggsmulcher.com/kstuff/a.s.a/intro.htm) to messages posted at alt.support.alzheimers so newcomers can visit our Web site.
No advertising.
Don't feed the trolls.
